Opening Pathways to Real Careers

Connecting foster youth to meaningful careers through technology and partnership.

Foster Careers brings foster youth, foster-serving organizations, training providers, and supportive-service partners together through one connected workforce platform. The goal is simple: make it easier for young people transitioning from foster care to move from support to preparation, employment, and long-term career stability.

Foster Careers

The Challenge

Young adults transitioning from foster care often have to navigate career opportunities, training, services, and support through disconnected programs and systems. The organizations helping them may also lack a shared way to coordinate services, follow progress, and measure outcomes.

Foster Careers helps close that gap by connecting the people, resources, and opportunities surrounding each participant in one place.

A Better Path Forward for Foster Youth

Foster Careers is donating Workforce Manager, a workforce development platform, to foster-serving organizations. The platform gives agencies and their partners a shared foundation for helping youth access support, prepare for employment, connect with employers, and progress toward meaningful careers.

This is more than a technology donation. Foster Careers combines the platform with ongoing development support and a growing network of organizations committed to improving career outcomes for foster youth.

How It Works

CONNECT

Bring youth, agencies, employers, training providers, and supportive service partners into one coordinated network.

SUPPORT

Help participants access mentorship, training, resources, and services that address barriers to employment.

PREPARE

Build skills, experience, and readiness for meaningful career opportunities.

TRACK

Follow each participant’s progress from intake and preparation to placement, retention, and continued growth.

Technology That Strengthens Existing Programs

Foster Careers is not intended to replace the work agencies already do. It gives organizations a shared technology platform that can strengthen coordination, improve visibility, and help partners work from the same information. This technology:

  • Gives participants a clearer path from services to employment
  • Coordinates activity across agencies and workforce partners
  • Connects employers with prepared candidates
  • Tracks participation, placement, retention, and other program outcomes
  • Uses shared insights to improve support over time
