A recent report highlights a significant surge in manufacturing construction projects across the United States, driven by the CHIPS Act signed into law in August 2022. This boom includes a wide range of projects, from semiconductor fabrication plants to electric vehicle battery factories and consumer goods manufacturing facilities.
Notable facilities added to the project map include a $1.4 billion sodium-ion battery factory in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and a $575 million semiconductor project in Taylor, Texas. This increase in manufacturing construction is seen as a response to the growing demand for advanced technologies and the need to strengthen domestic supply chains.
